Description

This technical position is responsible for supporting multiple applications and underlying server/network infrastructure. This role will require a strict adherence to best practices as our systems are required to be highly available, scalable, and secure. This role will also require close coordination and partnership with the several internal teams, data center teams, and business unit teams to ensure all objectives are accomplished in a seamless manner with well-defined processes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the applications and underlying server/network environment
• Application monitoring and taking the required action on production alerts
• Taking care of day to day support activities including application deployments, automation of recurring activities, documentation
• Collaborate with application development teams, business partners and data center teams
• Respond to incidents – identify problems, determine mitigation steps, determine root cause, identify preventive actions
• Troubleshoot the issues related to applications, servers etc.
• This role may require to work in UK shifts, and during weekends, as and when required

The idea candidate will be having –

• Expert knowledge in key areas including operating systems (Windows 2012 and 2008 Servers), networking technologies, security standards
• Ability to manage Microsoft IIS, FTP, VMWare, HyperV, MS SQL Server, and various vendor and homegrown applications in a load balanced or clustered environment

• Skills to manage and/or troubleshoot Active Directory and related environments such as WINS, DNS, NTFS file shares and folder permission, domain account maintenance, group policy, as well as server performance tuning
• 2+ years of experience in system administration and support.
•  2+ years of experience / knowledge on Windows (Linux knowledge is a plus), networking(TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing); Scripting (e.g. Batch, Perl)

·         Hands-on experience of Cloud administration, AWS, Azure

• Good understanding of ITIL processes and tools
• Strong problem management and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with various internal and external teams
• Logical thinker/problem solver who is self-motivated and a strong contributor within a team
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to collaborate with other teams
• Ability to work individually with least supervision
• Ability to think both creatively and logically to solve complex problems
